SECURITY FORCES ATTACK THE PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION OF PEOPLE IN AHWAZ ON THE FOURTH DAY AND ARRESTING THE PROTESTERS
Today,
Friday afternoon, March 30, popular protests continued for the fourth
day to opposing offenses by the state-run TV towards the Arab fellow
citizens in Khuzestan province. These protests were held peacefully in
various regions and cities. Instead of responding to the demands of the
people, the regime reacted by its security forces and counter-riot
guard,
that
violently attacked the peaceful demonstration of Arab citizens using
tear gas and firearms, led to the injury of a number of demonstrators.
Dozens
were detained in Koot Abdullah. On Thursday, a peaceful demonstration
took place at the center of Ahwaz, where was dragged to violent after
the intervention of the suppressive security forces.
The protests began on March 26 in Mahshahr, then spread to Ahwaz and its countryside and the city of Shadegan.
The number of detainees has so far reached 40. The names and characteristics of some of the detainees are as follows:
Khalid
Mahawi and Mahmud Bait Siah from Kohi Akhraf Aslfat, Saad Nawasri,
Mohammad Jalil Konon , and Assad Nawasri, who was wounded by the
security forces' attack, from Koot Abdullah .
